Ishibashi's Summer Palace, half-bridge wall. Summer Palace in Beijing's Haidian District, western outskirts of the city, China's largest existing ancient gardens (forest park), a World Heritage Site. Originally called Garden of Clear Ripples , Emperor Qianlong of the landscaping in 1764. Most of the Kunming-called artificial lakes and ponds, the Empress Dowager Cixi as a famous summer resort.
